A Defending Crusader…

The best defense is to be good and offensive…or something like that.

1948 Again?

Posted by Godefroi on January 13, 2009

In May of 1948, the nation of Israel reemerged from the darkness of history when David Ben Gurion declared independence.  The nascent nation was then attacked by the neighboring Arab countries, as well as by the Arabs then resident in the new state.

Are they gearing up for a repeat?

Palestinians” – Check (obviously).  Remember, Hamas’ founding document states “Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it” (The Martyr, Imam Hassan al-Banna, of blessed memory).”

Lebanon – Check (and thus by proxy, Iran).  Hizballah’s charter says “Our primary assumption in our fight against Israel states that the Zionist entity is aggressive from its inception, and built on lands wrested from their owners, at the expense of the rights of the Muslim people. Therefore our struggle will end only when this entity is obliterated. We recognize no treaty with it, no cease fire, and no peace agreements, whether separate or consolidated.

Syria – Check

Jordan – Check

Egypt is – somewhat surprisingly – playing the part of mediator this time around.  I imagine it’s because Mubarak detests Hamas as much as anyone else…although he’s not doing much to stop the smuggling of arms and other miscellaneous contraband into Gaza.

While it’s not the armies of these countries making attacks this time, the sentiment is certainly the same.

Ted Belman says “There is no diplomatic solution, there is only a military solution.”  If the IDF “solves” the problem of Hamas and the rockets – and the incessant vitriolic Jew-Hatred Hamas engenders – I wonder what Israel’s neighbors will do then?

One Response to “1948 Again?”

  1. Hamas will do anything to fulfill its genocidal charter.

I doubt that very many Americans even know there is such a thing as The Hamas Charter!
