Who is That Prophet? (Part 2)

Posted by Godefroi on November 25, 2008

Continuing the debate started yesterday.  Same warning applies.  🙂

Godefroi,
1. “I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and I will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.” Deuteronomy 18:18.

If Ishmael and Isaac are the sons of the same father Abraham, then they are brothers. And so the children of the one are the BRETHREN of the children of the other. The children of Isaac are the Jews and the Children of Ishmael are the Arabs – so they are BRETHREN to one another. The Bible affirms, ‘AND HE (ISHMAEL) SHALL DWELL IN THE PRESENCE OF ALL HIS BRETHREN.’ (Genesis 16:12). ‘AND HE (ISHMAEL) DIED IN THE PRESENCE OF ALL HIS BRETHREN.(Genesis 25:18). The children of Isaac are the brethren of the Ishmaelites. In like manner Muhummed is from among the brethren of the Israelites because he was a descendant of Ishmael the son of Abraham. This exactly as the prophecy has it- ‘FROM AMONG THEIR BRETHREN’.(Deut.18:18). There the prophecy distinctly mentions that the coming prophet who would be like Moses, must arise NOT from the ‘children of Israel’ or from ‘among themselves’, but from among their brethren. MUHUMMED THEREFORE WAS FROM AMONG THEIR BRETHREN!

“I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and I will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.” Deuteronomy 18:18.

“The prophecy proceeds further:’…….AND I WILL PUT MY WORDS INTO HIS MOUTH…….’ History tells us that Muhummed was forty years of age. He was in a cave some three miles north of the City of Mecca. It was the 27th night of the Muslim month of Ramadaan. In the cave the Archangel Gabriel commands him in his mother tongue: ‘IQRA’ which means READ! or PROCLAIM! or RECITE! During the next twenty-three years of his prophetic life, words were ‘Put into his mouth’, and he uttered them. The words (revelation) were actually put into his mouth, exactly as foretold in the prophecy under discusion: ‘AND I WILL PUT MY WORDS IN HIS MOUTH.’ (Deut. 18:18). In the verse 19 of Deuteronomy chapter 18, we have a further fulfilment of the prophecy in Muhummed! Note the words-’…..MY WORDS WHICH HE SHALL SPEAK IN MY NAME,” In whose name is Muhummed speaking….. “IN THE NAME OF GOD, MOST GRACIOUS, MOST MERCIFUL.” Quran 113, “IN THE NAME OF GOD, MOST GRACIOUS, MOST MERCIFUL” Quran 112, 111, 110, etc. Every chapter of the Holy Qur’an except the 9th begin with the formula: IN THE NAME OF GOD, MOST GRACIOUS, MOST MERCIFUL.’

2. You say THE “HE” IN Deuteronomy 33: 2 IS REFLEXIVE…TO GOD, NOT TO ANOTHER INDIVIDUAL. However, According to Genesis 21:21, the wilderness of Paran was the place where Ishmael settled (i.e. Arabia, specifically Mecca). Prophet Muhammad is the holy offspring of Ishmael through Kedar, who settled in the wilderness of Paran. Muhammad is the only Prophet through whom the Arabs received revelation at the time when the darkness had covered the earth. Through him God shone from Paran. Furthermore, since it was prophesied the “Lord came with ten thousands of his saints, to execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard [speeches] which ungodly sinners have spoken against him”. (Jude 1:14-15) . according to the Islamic history, the city of Mecca (Paran) was liberated by Prophet Muhammad’s 10,000-men army. The irrefutable historical proofs for this are located in this article: The story of the 10,000 Muslims who liberated Mecca (Paran) in the Bible. Now, since these prophecies were foretold in the Bible’s Old Testament, I would like to openly challenge any Jewish Rabbi or Christian Priest or Minister to answer the following question for me: Where in the Bible do we see any Prophet executing the Judgement of GOD Almighty specifically in the city of Paran (Mecca, the city that Abraham took Hagar and Ishmael to)? If Muhammad who liberated the city of Paran (Mecca) with 10,000 Believing Men (Saints) wasn’t the one who fulfilled this Biblical Prophecy, then who was that Prophet? Wasn’t Muhammad through the Divine Religion of Islam the one who ended the idol worshiping of the 365 gods, and ended the brutal slavery and the torturing of women (burying daughters alive at the age of 4 was the pagan Arabs custom)? Didn’t Muhammad bring the Arabs from the total darkness of polytheism and evil to the Light of Worshiping the One True Living GOD Almighty and associated no partners with Him? Wasn’t Muhammad fruitful, and a true man of GOD? Before you respond to this point, please also think about tell me how you think how “the Lord came from Sinai, and rose from Seir”.

3. You have not stated the meaning of the word PARACLETOS. If you are to refer it to the holy ghost this cannot be taken as the Holy Ghost, as says Jesus, “for if I go not away the Comforter will not come unto you, but if I depart I will send him unto you.” The words clearly show that the Comforter had to come after the departure of Jesus, and was not with him when he uttered these words. The church believes Jesus and the holy ghost are one, therefore one cannot be there without the other. Furthermore, since “He shall not speak of himself, but whatsoever he shall hear that he shall speak”, agains they cannot be the same. Therefore, as I said before this verse refrs to Prophet Muhammad who spoke the word of God and offered for the Jews to follw this also, but they declined.

Pay attention now, although he was not a Jew, If Ishmael and Isaac are the sons of the same father Abraham, then they are brothers.

The emphasis here is on the word “ANOTHER,” an other, a different one, an additional one, but of the same kind, yet distinctly different from the first. Who is then the first Comforter? The Christian world is unanimous that in this case the speaker himself — Jesus Christ (pbuh) is the first Comforter; then the other, the one to follow must be of like nature, subject to the same conditions of hunger, thirst, fatigue, sorrow and death.

And also, that New Testament times, we find that the Jews were still expecting the fulfilment of the prophecy of ‘ONE LIKE MOSES’, refer John 1:19-25. When Jesus claimed to be the Messiah of the Jews, the Jews began to enquire as to where was Elias? The Jews had a parallel prophecy that before the coming of the Messiah, Elias must come first in his second coming. Jesus confirms this Jewish belief:

“…….ELIAS TRULY SHALL FIRST COME, AND RESTORE ALL THINGS. BUT I SAY UNTO YOU, THAT ELIAS IS COME ALREADY, AND THEY KNEW HIM NOT,…THEN THE DISCIPLES UNDERSTOOD THAT HE SPAKE UNTO THEM OF JOHN THE BAPTIST.” (Matthew 17:11-13).

However, When questions of 1) ART THOU THE CHRIST?, 2) ART THOU ELIAS?, 3) ART THOU THAT PROPHET? were posed to John the Baptist by the Jewish elite- “ART THOU THAT PROPHET? AND HE ANSWERED, NO.” (John 1:21) The Jews were waiting for the fulfilment of THREE distinct prophecies: One, the coming of CHRIST. Two the coming of ELIAS, and Three, the coming of THAT PROPHET. ..and who was ‘THAT PROPHET?

“I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and I will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.” Deuteronomy 18:18.

If we look up any Bible which has a concordance or cross-references, the we will find in the marginal note where the words “the Prophet”, or “that Prophet” occur in John 1:25, that these words refer to the prophecy of Deuteronomy 18:15 and 18. And that ‘that prophet’ – ‘the prophet like Moses’ – “LIKE UNTO THEE”, we have proved through overwhelming evidence that he was MUHUMMED

My response to this harangue was necessarily short, unfortunately.

John 14:16-17: “…he will give you another Counselor [Comforter, Advocate – PARAKLETOS] to be with you forever — the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be [or, is] in you.” and John 14:26: “But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” Clearly, Jesus taught that the PARAKLETOS was the Holy Spirit. Also, how can the PARAKLETOS be Muhammad if he is to be “IN YOU”?

The Church, BTW, does not believe that Jesus and the Holy Spirit are identical. Also, I did not define parakletos previously because you already had.

Deut 18:15: “The LORD [YHWH] your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own brothers.” and Deut 34:10-12: “Since then, no prophet has risen IN ISRAEL like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face, who did all those miraculous signs and wonders the LORD sent him to do in Egypt—to Pharaoh and to all his officials and to his whole land. For no one has ever shown the mighty power or performed the awesome deeds that Moses did in the sight of all Israel.” Again, it is clear that the expected prophet “like Moses” would come from Israel, would know God “face to face”, and would do “miraculous signs and wonders”. Also, consider the Edomites (children of Edom/Esau)…Jacob (Israel) and Esau are closer in time to the Israelites of Moses’ time than Isaac and Ishmael…yet the descendants of Edom are not considered “brethren” to the Israelites, but rather a separate people.

One more thing. The Biblical wilderness of Paran was in the Northeast of the Sinai peninsula…hundreds of miles from Mecca.

Stay tuned for Part 3!
