A Defending Crusader…

The best defense is to be good and offensive…or something like that.

More Lies

Posted by Godefroi on October 7, 2008

I remember when Obama was first hit publicly with his association with now-convicted Tony Rezko.  He stated that Rezko contributed a small amount to Obama’s campaign(s), and that was all.  That was a lie…Rezko’s (and his cronies‘) contributions totaled nearly $250,000.  Of course, that doesn’t include the $300,000 sweetheart deal Obama got on his house because of Rezko.  The money was pledged to charity, if I recall, though not all has been delivered.  One has to wonder what would have become of that money had Rezko not been caught.

Anyway, it was alway Obama’s contention that Rezko did not receive any favors from Obama.  This is also a lie, as evidenced by this (poorly worded) article from the Chicago Sun-Times October 07.

As a state senator, Barack Obama wrote letters to city and state officials supporting his political patron Tony Rezko’s successful bid to get more than $14 million from taxpayers to build apartments for senior citizens.

The deal included $855,000 in development fees for Rezko and his partner, Allison S. Davis, Obama’s former boss, according to records from the project, which was four blocks outside Obama’s state Senate district.

Obama’s letters, written nearly nine years ago, for the first time show the Democratic presidential hopeful did a political favor for Rezko — a longtime friend, campaign fund-raiser and client of the law firm where Obama worked — who was indicted last fall on federal charges that accuse him of demanding kickbacks from companies seeking state business under Gov. Blagojevich.

This is “CHANGE”?  This is how he’s going to reform Washington?

Open your eyes, people.
